For communication problem to reach the other college also the civil society of Chopra block start a movement for a College in the year 2007. Various school teachers, professors and politicians were also involved in this movement. After a long time movement and discussion with local administration the dream of the civil society came to true in this region. The civil society formed ‘Chopra Educational Institute Society’ to establish a College in the year 2010. After positive initiative of then local MLA Jb. Hamidul Rahaman the College was established getting the permission of West Bengal Government and Higher Education Department of West Bengal Government. Finally University of North Bengal had given the green signal to establish a new general degree college in Chopra block.

First academic session of the college was started in the year 2013. But the college building was not constructed till now, then the classes were started in the Chopra High School and the 1^st Teacher-in-Charge was the Head Master of Chopra High School, Dr. PrasantaBasak. Under his leadership academic activities were started smoothly. In 2015 College received an experienced Principal Dr. Md. TaimurRahaman. In his tenure College was shifted its own building in 2016 in PaschimChutiakhorMouza in Chopra Block; now this place is known as ‘College Para’.  With the financial help(approx 5 crores) of West Bengal Government two storied college building was constructed by North Bengal Development Department, an enterprise of Govt. of West Bengal.

    In the year 2019 College has received permanent affiliation from University of North Bengal after fulfillment of all criteria. First Governing Body of the College was formed in the year 2018 with the members nominated by Government. Before that an Organizing Committee ran the College as highest administrative body. That committee was comprised with local MLA, SDO, BDO, Land Donor, Teacher-in-Charge or Principal of the College etc. In the year 2022 we have received the 2f and 12(B) affiliation from UGC. College got permission of own DDO Code in the year 2021 in the name of Teacher-in-Charge.
