Welcome to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) page. We are thrilled to introduce you to an organization that embodies discipline, leadership, and service. The NCC is not just a mere extracurricular activity; it is a transformative experience that shapes young individuals into responsible citizens and future leaders of our nation.
NCC is introduced as an extra curricula for the first time in the college in 2020 under the Unit 16th Bengal Battalion NCC, Siliguri. The first batch of Senior Division (boys) and Senior Wing (girls) were enrolled from the very session i.e. 2020-2021. Furthermore, NCC has been introduced as one of the elective subjects as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in our College from the session 2022-2023. Hence, it is the main curriculum now as the cadets are getting full credits as of other elective subjects.
The NCC provides a platform for students to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. Cadets engage in rigorous training, including drill exercises, physical fitness sessions, and adventure activities. These activities not only enhance their physical stamina but also instill qualities such as teamwork, discipline, and time management.
One of the hallmarks of the NCC is its leadership training program. Cadets are given opportunities to assume positions of responsibility and learn effective leadership skills. They are encouraged to take initiatives, make decisions, and manage teams, thereby honing their ability to lead with confidence, empathy, and adaptability. These skills go beyond the NCC and are invaluable in all aspects of life.
The NCC strongly emphasizes community service and social awareness. Cadets actively participate in various social welfare programs, including blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and awareness campaigns on important issues such as health, hygiene, and environmental conservation. By engaging in these activities, cadets develop a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Participation in the NCC opens
doors to a wide range of opportunities. Cadets have the chance to represent our college at inter-college competitions and national-level events, showcasing their skills and talents. The NCC also offers avenues for career development in the defense services and other sectors, with many NCC alumni excelling in their chosen fields.
